When a takeover or a stake in a particular company is being considered, it is vital
that ‘the merchandise’ is thoroughly inspected and this is where a due diligence comes
into play. The INSTIFIN due diligence investigations are known for their:
- No-nonsense reports, straight talking, no superabundance of graphs, tables and
‘disclaimers’;
- Attention to integrity issues. Through his interest the investor may jeopardize his
integrity and with that also his reputation (corruption, tax evasion, breach of
competition rules, exports to black-listed countries, etc.). In conjunction with the
client, we assess these risks and determine the scope of the investigation;
- Focus on background and culture (a.o. open-source investigation);
- Ability to look beyond the quantitative aspects. Themes such as integrity issues -
cf. above - leadership style, relationship with clients, are also examined after
consultation with the client.
